New Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy has made his first major personnel decision since taking the top job, today sacking General Manager of Football Operations Peter Nolan, and Head of Performance, Andrew Croll.<\/p>\n

Nolan has long been the man in charge of recruitment and retention at Red Hill, and the ire of many fans in the wake of Brisbane losing young stars such as Reece Walsh<\/a>, Xavier Coates and Tom Dearden.<\/p>\n

But until now he has kept his job.<\/p>\n

Following another heavy defeat, this time 46-0 to Wayne Bennett's Bunnies<\/a>, Brisbane bosses have lost patience with the under-performing football department.<\/p>\n

Croll only took over the role of Head of Performance this season, and can probably consider himself unlucky to be turfed out.<\/p>\n

Staff aren't the only personnel on the chopping block with Tevita Pangai Junior confirming in Nine's broadcast of Thursday Night Footy that he had been given permission by the Broncos to look for a new home<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It's also understood Matt Lodge is nearing a deal to move to the Warriors this season.<\/p>\n

With the whole NRL enjoying a bye next weekend, both Pangai and Lodge may have played their last games for Brisbane<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Broncos are in serious danger of winning a second consecutive wooden spoon, after last night's thumping saw them dropped to last on the ladder, based on their for and against.<\/p>\n

Brisbane has conceded 482 points \u2013 the worst in the competition \u2013 across 15 games, averaging more than 32 points conceded per game.<\/p>\n

Last year was Brisbane's worst ever defensive season in the club's 33-season history, conceding 624 points across 20 games, at an average of 31.2 points per game.<\/p>\n
