Superstar Storm fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen<\/a> has penned an emotional message on social media amid his recovery from a harrowing head knock – and he's found some room for humour.<\/p>\n

The reigning Dally M medallist has been sidelined since Round 10 after being knocked out by a high Tyrell Fuimaono hit, a moment that's become the face of ARLC chairman Peter V'landys' crackdown on foul play<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Papenhuyzen<\/a> emphasises in his message that he doesn't have a timeframe on his return to the field because the road back is "progression-based" and "changes each day".<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old also left a line for the fans relying on his on-field brilliance.<\/p>\n

"I do understand how frustrating it might be for your Fantasy," Papenhuyzen joked.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

"But missing footy games and not being able to be myself is just as frustrating for me and the people close to me."<\/p>\n

Fuiamono received a five-match ban for his high shot on Papenhuyzen, a tackle that V'landys has been very vocal about.<\/p>\n

"The last thing I want to see is what I saw on the weekend, having one of our marquee players on the floor for two minutes not moving," V'landys told Nine News.<\/p>\n

"What sort of sight is that?"<\/p>\n

Papenhuyzen was in exceptional form before the concussion rubbed him out, post eight tries and five try assists in six games.<\/p>\n

He crossed for four tries in 11 minutes as Melbourne thrashed Brisbane 40-6 in Round Four, mounting an irresistible case for NSW coach Brad Fittler to pick me as the Blues' bench utility.<\/p>\n

One positive in Papenhuyzen's absence is it's given Nicho Hynes the chance to showcase his outstanding ability on the NRL stage.<\/p>\n

Hynes' magnificence in the No.1 jumper has earned him a three-year deal with Cronulla<\/a>, where he'll play in the halves when he joins the Sharks after this season.<\/p>\n
