NSW Blues coach Brad Fittler has revealed Manly star Jake Trbojevic<\/a> won't be available for Origin II after being ruled out with a hip injury.<\/p>\n

Trbojevic suffered the injury at training this week, which will see the Blues prop miss next Sunday's clash at Suncorp Stadium.<\/p>\n

However, Fittler said he hopes to have Trbojevic available in time for next month's series finale. The Blues currently lead the series 1-0<\/a> following a 50-6 thrashing of the Maroons earlier this month.<\/p>\n

According to Fittler, the injury has now opened the door for Roosters back-rower Angus Crichton to return to the Origin arena, after he missed the series-opener due to a suspension<\/a>.<\/p>\n

"Absolutely, [Angus Crichton is contention]," Fittler told Nine.<\/p>\n

"The news this morning, Jake Trbojevic won't be available for State of Origin.<\/p>\n

"He got an injury at training. One of the hard conversations was speaking to him after an injury.<\/p>\n

"It was a hip problem. He will be available for the next game, so he won't be out for too long."<\/p>\n

Fittler said Crichton's ability to play as an edge forward and in the middle is an attractive option when it comes to team selection.<\/p>\n

"The good thing with Angus is he plays on an edge and in the middle, very much like Liam Martin," he added. <\/p>\n

"Sometimes you just don't know what's going to happen. The ball gets thrown in the air and you've just got to be able to fill in holes and Angus Crichton is able to do that, he did it for us last year."<\/p>\n
