A post-siren goal from Gary Rohan<\/a> has delivered Geelong yet another famous win over the Western Bulldogs at the GMHBA Stadium.<\/p>\n

With the ball stuck in Geelong's forward line inside the final minute, one last foray forward resulted in a Bulldogs attempted rebound coming right back, with Rohan taking a mark 27 seconds before the siren sounded.<\/p>\n

The siren went just as Rohan began his run-up before the right-footer bent the ball in perfectly from outside the right-hand goal post to give Geelong the 12. 11. (83) to 11. 12. (78) win<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It was a pulsating clash between two of the AFL's premiership fancies, with the lead growing no larger than 11 points throughout the contest.<\/p>\n

Following his game-winning heroics, Rohan said he trusted his goal-kicking routine ahead of his final kick. The goal was Rohan's second post-siren game-winner in his career, after kicking one for Sydney against Essendon back in Round 14, 2017.<\/p>\n

The 30-year-old became the second player to kick post-siren winners for two different clubs, joining Barry Hall who did so for both St Kilda and Sydney.<\/p>\n

"I just backed my routine," he told Seven. "I have full confidence in my routine and that's what I did and it went through."<\/p>\n

"I just went back, calmed my nerves and went through my routine and then the result was finished."<\/p>\n

Fellow Cats forward Jeremy Cameron said he backed his teammate on the siren, but revealed a hilarious exchange with a Bulldogs opponent after Rohan took the mark.<\/p>\n

"I said to one of the Bulldogs boys, 'How long do you reckon is left?', and he goes, 'Oh, two minutes' and then the siren went three seconds later," Cameron told Fox Footy.<\/p>\n

"You've got to back in your teammates don't you? He started it outside the right post and it drew back nicely."<\/p>\n

The win was met with a vociferous celebration from both the stands and inside Geelong's coaches box, with a masked Chris Scott breaking out into a ferocious celebration.<\/p>\n

While Rohan rightly received the plaudits for his clutch kick, it was an inspirational effort on the halfback flank from captain Joel Selwood<\/a> that allowed Geelong to break out of the Bulldogs' attacking half of the ground.<\/p>\n

Selwood combined with star teammate Patrick Dangerfield in a breathtaking run of play on the Cats' defensive wing, with the Cats skipper diving on the ground to slap a 50-50 ball forward before Dangerfield was able to send it inside 50.<\/p>\n

Geelong's efforts were led by a dominant showing in the back half from Tom Stewart, who finished with 27 disposals, with 15 of those intercept disposals, while also grabbing a season-high 13 marks.<\/p>\n

The Bulldogs were once again led by captain Marcus Bontempelli (30 disposals and a goal), while Tom Liberatore (30 disposals) and Jack Macrae (35 disposals) were once again prolific in the middle of the ground.<\/p>\n

Both sides came out of the match with injury concerns, with Mitch Duncan substituted out in the first quarter due to a knee injury, while Aaron Naughton was subbed off at half-time following a hit to the ribs in the second quarter.<\/p>\n

Geelong will once again face a flag favourite next week, with a match-up against Brisbane in Brisbane on deck for Round 15. The Bulldogs will also be on the road, travelling to Perth to face the West Coast Eagles.<\/p>\n
