Alex Johnston continued his sensational try-scoring form with another hat-trick in South Sydney's 24-10 win over the Knights.<\/a><\/p>\n

Johnston was first on the scoreboard, crossing after just two minutes, courtesy of Benji Marshall's smooth show and go across the line.<\/p>\n

He then scored twice more on either side of the half, capping off the feat with a sensational aerial stunner.<\/p>\n

Collecting the ball on the left edge, Johnston took it upon himself to beat his defender and get the goods, managing to find the grounding by millimetres inside the post.<\/p>\n

"He left the ground about four-metres out," league legend Steve Roach said in commentary.<\/p>\n

"That is sensational play, up up and away."<\/p>\n

It was Johnston's seventh hat-trick in his glistening try-scoring career.<\/p>\n

Along with the hat-trick, Johnston finished the game with 110 metres off 15 carries, three linebreaks and five tackle busts.<\/p>\n

Newcastle put up a decent fight, and stayed within striking distance of Souths but just couldn't find that next gear to get ahead.<\/p>\n

Knights coach Adam O'Brien started Connor Watson at five-eighth, with Jake Clifford shuffled to halfback.<\/p>\n

The highlight for the visitors was Newcastle's teen star Dominic Young, who scored a beauty for his first NRL try in just his second game.<\/p>\n

The youngster took flight to beat Latrell Mitchell in defence after capitalising off a quick ball from Bradman Best on the wing.<\/p>\n

"He just took off!" league legend Steve Roach said in commentary.<\/p>\n
