Geelong coach Chris Scott appeared to exchange words with a fan at Adelaide Oval during the Cats' 17.10 (112) to 14.7 (91) win over Port Adelaide<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Cameras at the end of the third quarter tonight captured the moment Scott left the coach's box before he stopped to confront a section of fans.<\/p>\n

The Geelong coach eventually walked away and spoke to security who were escorting him from the box to the ground. It's unclear at this stage what was said.<\/p>\n

"Chris Scott working his way through the crowd, you can occasionally get a bit of feedback over here at the Adelaide Oval," former Bulldogs star Luke Darcy said in Channel Seven's commentary.<\/p>\n

"That's a man who just loves a contest and he's in one tonight. A little bit happening with Chris Scott."<\/p>\n

Discussing the incident after the match, former Collingwood president Eddie McGuire claims he had pushed for a number of years for the ground to find a more appropriate way for away coaches to enter.<\/p>\n

"I've been having this blue for 20 years. I don't want to pick a fight with the Port Adelaide fans, but for years we fought to get perspex put up at the old football park … the officials of the away club were too close to a hostile environment," McGuire told Fox Footy.<\/p>\n

"They've built this place – you can't have coaches walking through the crowd, for everyone's sake. They have to fix it, it's as simple as that.<\/p>\n

"You can't expect everyone to be alright … there's only one way to get this fixed: Make it not happen. Get a lift or whatever the case may be, but you cannot have the coach walking through the crowd if you're the away coach. Fix it.<\/p>\n

"That is ridiculous in any stadium in the world. This is a great stadium so I'm at pains to say this."<\/p>\n

Tonight's win for the Cats is their fourth on the trot as they continue to cement a spot in the top four.<\/p>\n

Star froward duo Tom Hawkins (four goals) and Jeremy Cameron (five goals) stood up for the Cats in a see-sawing affair.<\/p>\n
