Essendon list manager Adrian Dodoro has opened up about an apparent leak of the club's recruitment plans on the eve of the 2020 AFL draft.<\/p>\n

The Bombers were in the news ahead of the draft<\/a> after a whiteboard which appeared in the club's draft rehearsal Zoom call seemed to show a number of prospects slotted in on the field alongside current Essendon players.<\/p>\n

However, speaking after the draft, where Essendon was able to nab Nik Cox (pick 8), Archie Perkins (9) and Zach Reid (10) with its first three picks<\/a>, Dodoro suggested that it was an elaborate prank.<\/p>\n

"What are you talking about?", he said with tongue in cheek when asked about the whiteboard on RSN Breakfast Club<\/em>.<\/p>\n

"There's a lot of people that don't have a sense of humour in this industry, that's all I'll say."<\/p>\n

According to Sydney Swans list manager Kinnear Beatson, Dodoro's whiteboard 'blunder' was simply another extension of his pranks.<\/p>\n

"Adrian's got a wicked sense of humour despite what people might think. I wouldn't be surprised if that was just a setup, deliberately done so people start to think 'Oh they're going to take these players'," he said on SEN's Whateley<\/em>.<\/p>\n

"I'm not exactly sure what happened, I saw it – knowing Adrian as well as I do, I've known him for a long time in this caper, that could've easily been a setup so I wouldn't be reading too much into that."<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
