Start a seven day free trial of the Stan Sport add-on now!<\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Instead, showing the way in which he stays cooler at crucial moments in the sport&#x27;s biggest tournaments these days, the sixth-seeded Zverev recovered quickly, grabbed 16 of the remaining 19 games and easily moved into his third major semifinal by defeating Alejandro Davidovich Fokina 6-4, 6-1, 6-1.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Obviously the Grand Slams are the tournaments that we want to win the most. Before, maybe the last few years, I was putting too much pressure on myself,&quot; said the 24-year-old Zverev, who was the runner-up to good friend Dominic Thiem at last year&#x27;s U.S. Open.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;I was not very patient with myself, which I feel like now, maybe, I learned how to deal with the situation a little bit better, I&#x27;m maybe a little bit calmer at the tournaments,&quot; he said. &quot;But the end goal hasn&#x27;t changed.&quot;<\/p>\n<p><img data-id=\"79391054-ac33-435e-ad48-b90fdcbb086b\" src=\"https:\/\/prod.static9.net.au\/fs\/79391054-ac33-435e-ad48-b90fdcbb086b\" alt=\"\" data-width=\"1920\" data-height=\"1080\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The German will participate in his first semifinal at Roland Garros against either No. 2 Daniil Medvedev of Russia or No. 5 Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece. Their quarterfinal was contested Tuesday night.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;I played solid so far. I know that the matches, (from) the semifinals on, are not going to get easier. I think the opponents there are extremely difficult to beat, so I got to play the same or raise my level even higher to have a chance,&quot; Zverev said. &quot;But I&#x27;m comfortable.&quot;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wwos.nine.com.au\/tennis\/tamara-zidansek-and-anastasia-pavlyuchenkova-reach-semifinals-at-roland-garros\/2244765f-1971-401d-af91-7f84b35049e1\" title=\"\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">In the two women&#x27;s quarterfinals<\/a> played earlier in the day at Court Philippe Chatrier, No. 31 seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova of Russia and 85th-ranked Tamara Zidansek of Slovenia each earned her first berth in a major semifinal.<\/p>\n<p>Zverev&#x27;s semifinal opponent will be either Stefanos Tsitsipas or Daniil Medvedev. They&#x27;re playing the night match on Court Philippe Chatrier.<\/p>\n<p>Zverev reached his first Grand Slam final at last year&#x27;s U.S. Open and lost to Dominic Thiem in five sets.
