GWS Giants draftee Tanner Bruhn has explained the reason behind his somber reaction to being selected in the draft.<\/p>\n
Bruhn was projected by many to be a top 10 pick, but slid down to the Giants' first pick at pick 12 on draft night.<\/p>\n
However, Bruhn appeared to be in a much better mood shortly after he was selected in a video call with his future coach.<\/p>\n
"I'm super excited. I can't wait to get up there. I'm over the moon," he told Cameron in a video call published on the club website.<\/p>\n

"My parents were crying and stuff but all for the right reasons. They're so stoked for me, all my family is so happy. Couldn't have picked a better club, it's unreal."<\/p>\n
When asked about his initial reaction, Bruhn explained that it was due more to his reserved nature, rather than not wanting to be a Giant.<\/p>\n
"A few people have said that – that I may have looked a bit angry or whatever," Bruhn said.<\/p>\n
"But I'm so happy – it's such a good outcome and it was more shock than anything … I'm pretty reserved so my emotion probably didn't show but I'm just so happy."<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
