{"id":81793,"date":"2021-06-07T11:59:22","date_gmt":"2021-06-07T11:59:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/?p=81793"},"modified":"2021-06-07T13:00:05","modified_gmt":"2021-06-07T13:00:05","slug":"gauff-seals-first-grand-slam-quarter-final-berth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/?p=81793","title":{"rendered":"Gauff seals first Grand Slam quarter-final berth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>American teenager <a href=\"https:\/\/wwos.nine.com.au\/tennis\/coco-gauff\" title=\"Coco Gauff\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Coco Gauff<\/a> served superbly to reach her first Grand Slam quarterfinal with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over <a href=\"https:\/\/wwos.nine.com.au\/ons-jabeur\" title=\"Ons Jabeur\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ons Jabeur<\/a> at <a href=\"https:\/\/wwos.nine.com.au\/tennis\/live-scores\/french-open-2021\/11648\" title=\"Roland-Garros\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Roland-Garros<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The 17-year-old secured the win over the Tunisian with a dominant serving match, losing just nine points on her own serve in the two-set encounter.<\/p>\n<p>Gauff&#x27;s win over Jabeur came after she also enjoyed a quick match in the previous round, with her opponent, Australian Open finalist Jennifer Brady, retiring with an injured left foot after Gauff won the opening set.<\/p>\n<p>The American, who won the junior title at Roland-Garros three years ago, is yet to drop a set in singles.<\/p>\n<p><img data-id=\"386d07d4-ce3e-4d39-9ea3-d1e5ea9eca0b\" src=\"https:\/\/prod.static9.net.au\/fs\/386d07d4-ce3e-4d39-9ea3-d1e5ea9eca0b\" alt=\"Coco Gauff\" data-width=\"1396\" data-height=\"785\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Gauff will next face Barbora Krejcikova, who also reached reached her first quarterfinal at a major by beating 2018 French Open runner-up Sloane Stephens 6-2, 6-0.<\/p>\n<p>Krejcikova saved all three break points she faced while Stephens ended up with 26 unforced errors.<\/p>\n<p>Krejcikova won her first WTA title in Strasbourg in the buildup to the French Open.
