There are fears Anthony Milford<\/a> may have played his last game for the Brisbane Broncos after the playmaker underwent knee surgery.<\/p>\n

Milford has struggled to keep his spot in the side this season, with Broncos coach Kevin Walters currently favouring Tyson Gamble and Albert Kelly in the halves.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old's $1 million per season contract officially expires at the end of this season and it's likely the out of favour playmaker won't feature again this season.<\/p>\n

Nine News rugby league reporter Mark Gottlieb revealed Milford recently underwent surgery on a knee injury, which will keep him out for at least a month.<\/p>\n

The Broncos will welcome veteran South Sydney halfback Adam Reynolds<\/a> to the side next season, and it's expected the club will continue to look at the open market before making a call on whether to bring Milford back next season.<\/p>\n

Milford to date has played 147 games for the Broncos after joining the club from Canberra back in 2015.<\/p>\n

Recently, rugby league great Andrew Johns questioned Milford's desire to continue his NRL career<\/a> when the playmaker was dropped for the second time this season last month.<\/p>\n

"I've watched him closely from above the last couple of weeks, there's just no urgency to get into play from Anthony," Johns told Wide World of Sports' Freddy and the Eighth<\/a> at the time.<\/p>\n

"So the question's got to be, does Anthony still want to play?"<\/p>\n
