{"id":79082,"date":"2021-05-28T06:16:39","date_gmt":"2021-05-28T06:16:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/?p=79082"},"modified":"2021-06-01T17:02:06","modified_gmt":"2021-06-01T17:02:06","slug":"world-test-championship-final-playing-conditions-announced-reserve-6th-day-to-make-up-time-lost-during-first-5-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/?p=79082","title":{"rendered":"World Test Championship Final playing conditions announced; reserve \u20186th day\u2019 to make up time lost during first 5 days"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The International Cricket Council (ICC) today announced the playing conditions for the ICC World Test Championship Final featuring India and New Zealand at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesportsnews.in\/southampton-to-host-world-test-championship-final-between-india-and-new-zealand-icc\/\">Hampshire Bowl in Southampton<\/a> next month.<\/p>\n<p>The playing conditions confirm that a draw or a tie will see both teams crowned as joint winners as well as the allocation of a Reserve Day to make up for any lost time during the regular days of the Final \u2013 scheduled to be played from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesportsnews.in\/world-test-championship-final-to-be-held-at-southampton-from-june-18-22-between-india-and-new-zealand-sourav-ganguly\/\">18 to 22 June<\/a>, with 23 June set aside as the Reserve Day. Both of these decisions were made in June 2018, prior to the commencement of the ICC World Test Championship.<\/p>\n<p>The Reserve Day has been scheduled to ensure five full days of play, and it will only be used if lost playing time cannot be recovered through the normal provisions of making up lost time each day. There will be no additional day\u2019s play if a positive result is not achieved after five full days of play and the match will be declared a draw in such a scenario.<\/p>\n<p>In the event of time being lost during the match, the ICC Match Referee will regularly update the teams and media about the way in which the Reserve Day may be used.
