The Australian's reputation internationally has been helped by the fact he took Yokohama to the top in only his second year with the club, who were struggling before his arrival.<\/p>\n Postecoglou has been tipped by several UK bookmakers as the favourite to take the top job at Celtic, after ex-Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe was ruled out of contention.<\/p>\n "We can now confirm that Eddie will not be joining the club, for reasons outside both his and Celtic's control," the club said on Friday.<\/p>\n Celtics have history with Australians in the past with Scott McDonald and Mark Viduka playing for the club while Socceroos star Tom Rogic is a current member of the squad.<\/p>\n In a recent interview with the Fox Football Podcast, Postecoglou said he and his family are comfortable living overseas and have no plans of returning to Australia.<\/p>\n "As a family we've made a decision we're going to stay overseas for the rest of my career and see where else we can make an impact.
