Jazz Tevaga looks set to face scrutiny from the NRL's Match Review Committee after he was sin-binned for a late shot during the Warriors' 29-28 loss to the Cowboys<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Tevaga late in the first half rushed up on Heilum Luki, who had already moved the ball on before he was taken to the ground by a late shot.<\/p>\n

Referee Matt Cecchin immediately sent Tevaga to the sin bin, which resulted in the Cowboys crossing over for two tries to finish out the half.<\/p>\n

"That was crazy stuff," Fox League commentator Warren Smith said.<\/p>\n

"That was a crazy late tackle there, there was no need to make that tackle from Jazz Tevaga.<\/p>\n

\"Jazz<\/p>\n

Rugby league great Steve Roach added: "He's not even in the defensive line, 10 metres. He's further back. That's how late it was. Have a look at where he comes from!"<\/p>\n

The sin-binning forced the Warriors to play with 12 men to close out the first half, which saw New Zealand trail by 16 points at the main break.<\/p>\n

While the Warriors poured on four consecutive tries during the second half to lead by six points late in the match, coach Nathan Brown said Tevaga's sin-binning ultimately put his side in too big of a hole.<\/p>\n

"Until the sin-binning, it was a pretty tough half footy, and then when the sin-binning happened we had some people who didn't handle it so well," Brown told reporters after the match.<\/p>\n

"We had some people who didn't get some things quite right you need to get right at this level. We got a fair number of players who are still learning their way.<\/p>\n

\"NRL<\/p>\n

"The 12-a-side, managing that situation, obviously with where we were at with the game, it's definitely going to be something that's not going to be uncommon.<\/p>\n

"We've got a bye coming, it's something we're going to have to step up and do better."<\/p>\n
