The Melbourne Demons have confirmed all their players and staff have returned negative COVID-19 tests after a scare threatened their blockbuster Friday night game against the top-of-the-table Bulldogs.<\/a><\/p>\n

On Thursday it was revealed that a Melbourne player was found to be present at a tier one COVID-19 exposure site<\/a> on Sunday, forcing him into a mandatory 14-day isolation and jeopardising the Demons' next clash.<\/p>\n

As a result, every Melbourne player and staffer had to be tested and isolate, but luckily all have since been cleared.<\/p>\n

"Players and staff are now clear to attend the club's Round 11 clash with the Bulldogs," the club confirmed in a statement on Friday morning.<\/p>\n

"The player who attended a tier one exposure site will continue to undertake his 14-day isolation as per government regulation."<\/p>\n

AFL boss Gillon McLachlan said there is still some uncertainty as to how Victoria's seven-day "circuit-breaker"<\/a> will affect the season's scheduled games beyond Round 11.<\/p>\n

"Candidly, no [I don't know what's happening next week]," he told 3AW on Friday.<\/p>\n

"We are planning for all the contingencies our instincts tell us.<\/p>\n

"We are not think about moving into hubs right now."<\/p>\n
