Unifed super weltereight world champion Jermell Charlo has laughed off claims Tim Tszyu <\/a>wants to fight him, saying the Aussie is not on the level to fight for a world title.<\/p>\n

Charlo responded to claims Tszyu's camp is willing to put up $10 million for a world title fight in Australia<\/a>, with the Aussie saying the American has "very lucky" power and is never in control of his fights.<\/p>\n

Charlo holds the WBC, WBA and IBF super welterweight championships, which he will put on the line in an anticipated unification bout with WBO titleholder Brian Castano on July 17.<\/p>\n

Tszyu, who is scheduled to take on fellow local Michael Zerafa on July 7 in Newcastle<\/a>, wants to fight the winner of the Charlo and Castano but the world champion scoffed at the suggestion.<\/p>\n

"Tim 'Kostya' Tszyu is not on a level to even fight for a world title," told Ringside with the Lions.<\/p>\n

"He ain't even on the level to fight some of the guys that I've knocked the f–k out of and he ain't even going to get no chance to fight me, probably throughout my career. I'm just being honest with you.<\/p>\n

"Ten million sounds great, yes. I would love to take that, but Tim, sorry big homie, you ain't getting that chance to fight Charlo 'cause Charlo got some other plans. I'm the champ. I'm the unified champ. I'm going to be the undisputed champ. I'm going to bust my ass in training camp to get to what I need to get to, to get all of the belts and then they're going to say 'champ you the king'."<\/p>\n

The comments come after Tszyu questioned Charlo's prominence, saying the US fighter's style wouldn't be that difficult to overcome.<\/p>\n

"There's a few other styles that could be tougher. I don't rate Charlo as high as he is right now," Tszyu told The Main Even Boxing Podcast<\/em>.<\/p>\n

"He's never in total control of a fight. He's got power which is very lucky."<\/p>\n

In an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald, No Limit's George Rose said he wasn't surprised by Charlo's reaction.<\/p>\n

"I'm not surprised [Charlo] is saying that because Tim Tszyu is not a person you want to fight, simple as that," Rose said.<\/p>\n

"At worst he is a very hard fight and at best he wins that fight every day of the week.<\/p>\n

"If you're at the top, you wouldn't want to fight Tim Tszyu because he's good. Charlo knows that and watching what he had to say, it's clear he knows that Tim Tszyu is the most dangerous opponent in the super-welterweight division."<\/p>\n
