The West Coast Eagles<\/a> have locked down one of the AFL's brightest young stars, with Oscar Allen signing an extension that will see him remain at the club through 2025.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old has enjoyed a strong start to the season, with his 20 goals through 10 games an equal career-best mark. <\/p>\n

Allen was initially contracted through the 2022 season, and his three-year extension comes amid reports that rivals had tabled offers of up to $850,000 per season for his services.<\/p>\n

Re-committing to the Eagles allows Allen to continue what has been a successful apprenticeship under the likes of veterans Josh Kennedy<\/a> and Jack Darling, and Allen himself expressed his excitement about remaining at the club.<\/p>\n

"It is great for me to have the security of a contract extension," Allen said.<\/p>\n

"I love the club and the playing group and want to be a part of what we aim to achieve in both the short and medium term. It means I can now fully concentrate on footy.<\/p>\n

"Personally, to be able to tap into the knowledge of blokes like Josh Kennedy, Jack Darling and Jeremy McGovern has been great. I look forward to playing more football with them and learning even more."<\/p>\n

After being drafted 21st overall by the Eagles back in 2017, the WA native has played 48 games for West Coast, kicking 58 career goals. <\/p>\n

Allen currently ranks second in the AFL for total contested marks and has proven to be an excellent foil for the veteran duo of Kennedy and Darling in Adam Simpson's forward line, while also deputising for Nic Naitanui in the ruck at times.<\/p>\n
