Essendon great Matthew Lloyd has put the heat on ex-Bomber Joe Daniher<\/a> to improve his goal-kicking, suggesting his wayward kicking could cost Brisbane in a big game. <\/p>\n

While his move to Brisbane has been a success, Daniher's inaccuracy in front of goal has travelled with him from Essendon to Brisbane, with the 27-year-old kicking 17.15 so far this year.<\/p>\n

The good and bad in Daniher's game was once again on show in Brisbane's win over Richmond in Round 10<\/a>, with the left-footer picking up 18 disposals, but nailing just one of his five shots on goal. <\/p>\n

Lloyd, who was once Daniher's goal-kicking mentor at Essendon, hit back at suggestions that the Lions star has enjoyed an "incredible" start to the season at his new club.<\/p>\n

"Incredible is a bit strong. He'll be incredible when he starts kicking those goals," he told Nine's Footy Classified<\/em>.<\/p>\n

"He's playing well, but still I'm forecasting to finals and to big games where they need to try and fight for top-two or top-four, and he's still doing this. <\/p>\n

"It's always going to be in the back of my mind that it could come back to haunt Brisbane, and that stops him from being a great forward of the game."<\/p>\n

Lloyd's comments come after former Melbourne captain Garry Lyon also criticised Daniher's kicking<\/a>, saying he held "grave concerns" for the Lions forward.<\/p>\n

While Daniher is in his ninth AFL season, Port Adelaide great Kane Cornes said he still had time to correct his wayward kicking, pointing to Power veteran Robbie Gray as a good example.<\/p>\n

"(Daniher's) issue, if there is any blemish on his career, is that shot right there: 30 metres out directly in front," he told Footy Classified<\/em>.<\/p>\n

"He's kicked 13.3 for the year, Robbie Gray, and I think he's one of the most clutch players in the game. <\/p>\n

"He's 32 years of age and he's still working hard on his goal-kicking, so Joe's not too old to fix that and come up with something that works for him. He has (been good), but he's paid big money to kick those."<\/p>\n
