Tayla Harris<\/a>' manager has hit out at Carlton's AFLW<\/a> coach Daniel Harford over his comments regarding the pay dispute that has Harris set to leave the club.<\/p>\n

Talks with Carlton broke down last week amid reports that Harris was seeking a $150,000 salary to re-sign, and Harford opened up on the team's negotiations, calling "the gap too big" between what the Blues were willing to pay Harris and what she wanted.<\/p>\n

Harris' manager, Alex Saundry, hit back at Harford's comments, denying claims that her client was "money hungry".<\/p>\n

"It's actually been blown out of the water in terms of its context," Saundry told KIIS FM's Jase & PJ.<\/em><\/p>\n

"It's been blown out of proportion in terms of the numbers reported in the media. The numbers are nowhere near where they were.<\/p>\n

"(Harford) spoke Friday morning on radio and said the gap was too large. I think it was a really poor choice of words unfortunately from Daniel Harford."<\/p>\n

Saundry also indicated that it was "not out of the question" for Harris to take a break away from the AFLW, particularly with a return to boxing on the horizon<\/a>.<\/p>\n

"Taking the money off the table. She is not money hungry, and I want to make that really clear.<\/p>\n

"The same day that Tayla Harris, the figures were reported, there was a contract that was worth $6 million for a male \u2014 but who takes the target? It's the female athlete all the time.<\/p>\n

"She put (AFLW) on the map … How do you base a career off seven average games or seven average shows \u2026 that's what we've been disappointed about. That's my choice of words \u2014 disappointed."<\/p>\n
