Port Adelaide's media team hit former Collingwood<\/a> star Dane Swan with the perfect response to a snarky tweet yesterday evening.<\/p>\n

The Power began their clash with the Magpies<\/a> on a horrible note, managing just one point in the first quarter of the MCG match and trailing by 18 points at the first break.<\/p>\n

Swan jumped at the opportunity to make a mockery of Port Adelaide, posting to Twitter at quarter-time: "Is one point good in a qtr of footy? Asking for a lot of friends of mine from SA."<\/p>\n

But although the Power even trailed by 32 points at three-quarter time, they charged home to snare a one-point victory, winning 8.11 (59) to 8.10 (58).<\/p>\n

Port Adelaide's chirpy media team then took the chance to whack Swan over his jibe, posting: "Handy point."<\/p>\n

Swan wasn't done.<\/p>\n

"To whom ever runs this account – No need to thank me for helping you get your biggest engagement you've ever had on here," Swan wrote in reply to Port Adelaide's tweet.<\/p>\n

"The amount of charity work I do on (sic) is phenomenal and I don't ask to be rewarded (Ps. Don't wait til the 4 hours after the game to reply, be better)."<\/p>\n

The 2011 Brownlow Medal winner then proceeded to fire off a series of more sarcastic tweets.<\/p>\n

"Very disappointing today, they played with no passion, energy and not for each other. Collingwood on the other hand were terrific, great spirit and fight shown," Swan wrote.<\/p>\n

"I hope Port sing the song in the prison bars. I would really respect that level of pettiness.<\/p>\n

"To all the Port fans\/Collingwood haters please reply to this tweet all your witty retorts and whatever else you feel like telling me about the game today and I'll laugh at em at a later date. Watching a movie now."<\/p>\n

Tensions between Collingwood and Port Adelaide heightened earlier this month when the Power made another push to wear their 'prison bars' jumper in the Showdown<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Magpies have long campaigned against the Power wearing the 'prison bars' jumper<\/a> because they believe the black-and-white, striped guernsey breaches trademark laws.<\/p>\n

Port Adelaide only want to wear their heritage jumper in each Showdown with cross-city rivals the Adelaide Crows, not in any other games.<\/p>\n

But the AFL again rejected their plea and said they'd be docked four competition points if they wore the guernsey<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Port Adelaide didn't wear the jumper in the match, in which they beat the Crows by 49 points, but threw on the guernsey for their post-game celebrations, sparking calls of immaturity<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Collingwood made a mockery of Port Adelaide's push to wear the 'prison bars' jumper on yesterday's banner.<\/p>\n

"IS BLACK & WHITE OURS? WITHOUT A DOUBT, YES STICK TO WEARING TEAL AND WRECKING INXS'," the banner said.<\/p>\n

The mention of INXS was a jibe at Port Adelaide fans singing INXS song Never Tear Us Apart<\/em> before the club's home games at Adelaide Oval.<\/p>\n

The pre-game sparring between the two teams was welcomed by former Hawthorn champion Dermott Brereton, who was left chuckling at the banner.<\/p>\n

"Very cheeky," the five-time premiership Hawk said on Fox Footy's coverage.<\/p>\n
