Off the back of another stellar performance to lead the Cowboys to a 36-20 win over the Knights, it was put to Drinkwater if he had any idea where he would fit into the line-up once Townsend and Dearden arrive.<\/p>\n
While Drinkwater revealed no formal conversations had yet taken place with coach Todd Payten, he did have one emphatic message.<\/p>\n

"I believe I'm the best six at this club," Drinkwater said.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
"I'm just doing my best week-in week-out to play No.6. That's where I want to play."<\/p>\n
A week after the playmaker fought back tears following a tight loss to the Roosters, Drinkwater was back at it, bagging three try-assists at Queensland Country Bank Stadium for a resurgent Cowboys outfit.<\/p>\n
It marks another step forward for the Queenslanders as they climb to eighth on the ladder, and it's largely off the back of Drinkwater's enterprising plays, says Storm great Billy Slater.<\/p>\n

"Things just happen around Scott Drinkwater, when he gets the ball in his hands, you think something is going to happen," Slater said.<\/p>\n
"Whether it's a pass, a kick, or a run, he's just a creative football player, things happen around him, he's all class and I think he's the future of the club.<\/p>\n
"He's a confident young man, I remember when he was down at the Storm it was only a pec injury that kept him out of the no.1 jersey, he was holding Ryan Papenhuyzen out and Jarome Hughes out of that no.1 jersey."<\/p>\n
