Nicky Winmar<\/a>'s historic anti-racism stance has been immortalised once again, with the gesture featured on St Kilda's Indigenous round jumper for this season.<\/p>\n

Winmar created the design for the jumper, which is inspired by his football story and his family and the Saints will wear his jumper for the AFL's Sir Doug Nicholls rounds.<\/p>\n

The design features a black silhouette of his famous "I'm black and I'm proud" gesture<\/a> he made towards Collingwood fans at Victoria Park back in 1993 after being racially abused.<\/p>\n

"The silhouette you see on the front from the Collingwood game … I will always be proud of that," Winmar said at the Saints' jumper reveal.<\/p>\n

"I'm just happy to be able to put that on the front of the Indigenous guernsey. <\/p>\n

"It was important (to include the gesture). It was a big day for us that day in '93 on the 17th of April, which I still remember.<\/p>\n

"I still watch it on YouTube every now and then, the replays. I still reflect on that day … it's going to be there forever.<\/p>\n

"I will always be a proud person and stand up for my people and my culture and for all Indigenous people throughout Australia … and to have it as part of it on the Indigenous jumper, I'm just so excited about it."<\/p>\n

The AFL's two Indigenous rounds will take place in Rounds 11 and 12 this season, with St Kilda to take on North Melbourne and the Sydney Swans in the two weeks.<\/p>\n
