Western Bulldogs<\/a> coach Luke Beveridge<\/a> has urged club legend Scott West to talk to him in private after West attacked him over his son's playing time on social media last week.<\/p>\n

West's son, Rhylee, was drafted by the Bulldogs back in 2018, but has only played eight matches in three seasons. Rhylee was brought into the Bulldogs' side against Richmond in Round Seven, before being dropped after just one game.<\/p>\n

Following his son's axing, Scott West, a five-time All-Australian who played 324 games for the Bulldogs between 1993 and 2008, unloaded on Beveridge in a facebook post<\/a> for what he deemed "disgraceful" management of young players, including his son and forward Josh Schache.<\/p>\n

Addressing the club legend's concerns, Beveridge revealed that he had told West to call him privately in the future.<\/p>\n

"Rhylee and I have come together and our relationship is extremely strong. In a sense, I feel like a little bit of a father figure to Rhylee at times," he said.<\/p>\n

"It is just reassuring him that everything is going to be OK.<\/p>\n

"Probably the sensitivity around something like that made public everyone is really wary and cautious and definitely emotional towards Rhylee to make sure everything has been OK.<\/p>\n

"Likewise, people have been extending that empathetic voice towards me as well, because it is something that should be private (that) went public.<\/p>\n

"That happens from time to time and it is an emotional game for Rhylee's sake I hope that we just move on because he is just scratching the surface in his career and there will be some disappointment throughout his career."<\/p>\n
