Former Bronco Chris Walker, the uncle of Roosters young gun Sam, has pointed the finger at Anthony Seibold over Brisbane's inability to retain the Tricolours' halfback.<\/p>\n

Walker, who has quickly emerged as a future superstar of the game this season, today signed a new two-year deal to remain with the Roosters<\/a> until the end of 2023.<\/p>\n

The 18-year-old and son of former Brisbane halfback Ben Walker left his home state of Queensland while on a development deal with Brisbane to join the Roosters back in 2019.<\/a><\/p>\n

The young gun's uncle today claimed that a key reason behind the teen prodigy's decision to leave Brisbane was due to the Broncos not allowing Walker's parents to be involved during contract negotiations.<\/p>\n

\"Sam<\/p>\n

"Unfortunately, for the great club that is the Brisbane Broncos, it's true," Walker told SEN.<\/p>\n

"That came from Anthony Seibold, that they didn't want Ben and Kylie (Sam's parents) to be there.<\/p>\n

"I found that really strange, for a club like the Broncos. He was 16."<\/p>\n

After alleging that the Broncos tried to pressure Sam into signing with the club, Walker was asked what he felt they were thinking in trying the eyebrow-raising tactic.<\/p>\n

"You probably have to ask Seibold, I've got my thoughts on it," he added.<\/p>\n

"My first thought was that they were trying to pressure him into signing, that's what I felt when I heard it.<\/p>\n

\"Walker<\/p>\n

"It was really sad, I go for the Broncos, I love the club, and it's sad to see what they're going through at the moment.<\/p>\n

"They could have had Sam as a 10-to-15-year player."<\/p>\n

Seibold is yet to comment on the allegations.<\/p>\n
