The Roosters famously nabbed Walker, the son of former Broncos halfback Ben Walker, when he was just 16-years-old<\/a> while on a development deal with Brisbane.<\/p>\n Through six games this season, Walker already has three tries and 10 try assists to his name.<\/p>\n Roosters coach Trent Robinson confirmed the signing news this afternoon and credited Walker for having a bigger than expected impact on the team, who currently sit in fifth spot on the ladder.<\/p>\n "It's nice knowing that you look at a player, see what you want in a player and then he delivers on that and more," Robinson said.<\/p>\n "It's obviously been quite quick, the negotiations, but trying to work out the value of an 18-year-old halfback is [hard], and that's taken a couple of weeks.<\/p>\n "It's been very clear from Ben, Kylie, Sam and their management that this was the place for him a couple of years ago and this is the place for him the next couple of years.<\/p>\n "It's been great to get it done and keep Sam rolling on.<\/p>\n "I said 10 [years] but that didn't [happen] \u2026 We did [talk longer] but being really honest about landing on that number is hard.<\/p>\n "We know he's been a Roosters supporter as a kid and wants to be here.<\/p>\n "We've got that opportunity to offer, that style of footy whilst loving his teammates around him.<\/p>\n "All of that's good but keep the fire, keep the hunger with two years to strive on the field. That stuff will look after itself again.
