The club has since confirmed that neither player will face sanctions after it was revealed the altercation started when Rioli's partner became subjected to inappropriate behaviour.<\/p>\n
It's understood contract negotiations between Bolton and the club are ongoing, with the recent events set to have "no bearing on those discussions" according to club CEO Brendan Gale.<\/p>\n

"We're in discussions with Shai and (his manager) Ralph (Carr)," Gale told SEN.<\/p>\n
"This (incident) will have no bearing on those discussions.<\/p>\n
"I'm confident he won't be going anywhere. He loves it here, he thrives here and really belongs here."<\/p>\n
"At the end of the day, Daniel and Shai responded to what they deemed to be inappropriate conduct," he added.<\/p>\n
"Gee, it would be a whole lot easier if Shai and Daniel sat home on the couch every night, but that's not the way you expect to live.<\/p>\n
"From time to time they're going to make mistakes."<\/p>\n

Richmond coach Damien Hardwick revealed yesterday the club had reviewed the incident and were comfortable that there was no wrongdoing on the part of the two players.<\/p>\n
"I can understand the fixation on our players, but from our point of view, our player's partner is put in an inappropriate situation that she didn't feel comfortable with and Daniel stood up and tried to eradicate the situation and was punched in the eye," he told Fox Footy's AFL360.<\/p>\n
"I don't condone violence, but the reality is put anyone in that situation and they're going to stand up for their partner and their mates. It was a difficult situation and it's not one we'd ideally want to be in, but the reality is we are where we are.<\/p>\n
"We've spoken to the players at length and we go through a thorough process. We've got to the bottom of it with the evidence we've got and the story we have, so from our point of view we back in the players.<\/p>\n
"We're disappointed it's come to that situation and we don't condone violence, but we understand these situations happen from time to time, but it doesn't make it right."<\/p>\n
