Karachi: The England Cricket Board (ECB) has clarified to country’s white-ball stars that\u00a0their upcoming tours of Pakistan and Bangladesh will take priority over the rescheduled Indian Premier League (IPL).<\/strong><\/p>\n

England are due to play limited-overs matches in Bangladesh before heading to their first Pakistan tour in 16 years. They will play two T20s on October 14 and 15 at National Stadium, Karachi.<\/p>\n

IPL’s 2021 edition\u00a0was suspended last week due to the devastating coronavirus outbreak in India. There are speculations that the competition\u00a0may resume midway through September, which could lead to a clash with England white-ball tours of Pakistan and Bangladesh.<\/p>\n

“We’ve got a full future tours programme and if those tours are going ahead I’d expect them (IPL players) to be there,” ECB’s managing director Ashley Giles said.<\/p>\n

“We’ve got a lot of important high profile cricket including a T20 World Cup and Ashes, so we’re planning on the involvement of England players in England matches,” he added.<\/p>\n

After the conclusion of Pakistan’s T20I series, England and Pakistan will travel to India\u00a0for the ICC Men\u2019s T20 World Cup.<\/p>\n
