However, that same play also saw star fullback James Tedesco cop a nasty high shot due to a shoulder charge from Eels centre Marata Niukore. The Parramatta back was placed on report for the shot on Tedesco, with the Roosters receiving a penalty that resulted in two points as the second half siren sounded.<\/p>\n
But what's left a number of NRL pundits scratching their heads was the bunker missing Brown's shot on Hutchison, which could've been a sin-binning offence, while that same question was also asked of Niukore.<\/p>\n

"I could make a case there are two incidents there in the same play that could both be sin bins," Nine commentator Mat Thompson said.<\/p>\n
At the time of the incident, Niukore was only penalised and placed on report, while Brown avoided both.<\/p>\n
Roosters officials then asked the question whether they could sub in 18th-man Joseph Suaalii, which was denied due to Brown not being pulled up for the incident with his knees.<\/p>\n
Under new NRL rules, teams are instantly allowed to bring in their 18th man if a player is ruled out due to foul play.<\/p>\n

"There were inquires on the sidelines from Roosters officials as to whether they could bring on the 18th man as a result of foul play, but because it was Niukore put on report and not Dylan Brown, they were denied," Nine's sideline reporter Danika Mason said.<\/p>\n
Queensland rugby league great Darren Lockyer admitted he was left puzzled with the bunker missing Brown's incident, which he thought was a sin-binning offence.<\/p>\n
"I think Parramatta are lucky, it was a penalty. It will be on report and I think he (Niukore) might miss a couple of weeks," Lockyer.<\/p>\n
"And, Dylan Brown should have been sin-binned. It should have been 13 on 12."<\/p>\n
Cronulla great Paul Gallen after the match added: "Dylan Brown was not even put on report, I thought that dead-set that knee was deliberate.<\/p>\n
"I thought he was going to get put in report and sent to the sin bin immediately."<\/p>\n
