While the situation hasn't broken down talks between Brown and the Eels, it has attracted the interest of rival club's who could make a play for the forward. <\/p>\n
"Nathan Brown was going to agree to a two-year contract with Parramatta," Weidler told Nine's 100% Footy. "Then the talk started up about Mitchell Moses signing a long-term deal.<\/p>\n

"The understanding that Nathan Brown had from the Eels was that they were only offering shorter-term deals, like two-year deals.<\/p>\n
"When the Moses news came through, he started to hesitate and wonder why he was being told one thing and there was another situation developing.<\/p>\n
"This is still going to go on for a little while. Parramatta obviously want to keep him. His preference is to stay with Parra, but originally, he wanted a three or four-year deal.<\/p>\n
"He was going to agree to a two, but they may have changed now. And there are a couple clubs starting to make inquiries as to whether he's going to be available."<\/p>\n
Confusion aside, NRL guru Phil Gould implored Brown to take the shorter deal and back his value on the field in his pursuit for another deal down the road.<\/p>\n

"He'll stay at Parramatta and he should stay at Parramatta," Gould said. "If they give you a two-year deal, take the two-years and back yourself. That's the sort of player that he is.<\/p>\n
"So, he should just stay where he is, that's where he's playing his best football.<\/p>\n
"He's a hard worker, obviously an impact player, he's part of the spirit there of that Parramatta side. He's got ball skills, a relentless personality, he loves to stick it into his opposition."<\/p>\n
