Wests Tigers young gun Tommy Talau faces at least one week on the sidelines after being hit with a grade one shoulder charge by the match review committee.<\/p>\n

Talau's incident occurred during the eighth minute of yesterday's win over the Dragons<\/a>, with the centre drawn into a side on hit on Jack Bird as the former NSW playmaker delivered a pass that resulted in a try to Cody Ramsey in the corner.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old was put on report for the hit and was charged by the NRL's match review committee today.<\/p>\n

Talau will miss just one game – the Tigers' clash with the Gold Coast on Saturday – if he takes the early guilty plea. An unsuccessful challenge at the judiciary would result in a two-game suspension.<\/p>\n

At the time of the offence, rugby league immortal Andrew Johns was left stunned with referee Chris Sutton's decision to place the young gun on report.<\/p>\n

"Was that [report] for a shoulder charge?" Johns asked during Nine's coverage of the match. "He just braced himself."<\/p>\n

In the only other charge from yesterday's NRL action, Cowboys prop Coen Hess has been hit with a fine of $1350-$1800 for dangerous contact on Warriors rookie Reece Walsh<\/a>.<\/p>\n
