Morris was in tears after the match, consoled by his twin brother Josh<\/a> in the dressing room. He had already scored 11 tries this season despite being 34 years-old, taking his career tally to 176.<\/p>\n "When players do finish, not a lot actually go out playing their best football," Eels great Peter Sterling said on The Sunday Footy Show<\/em>. "He's in career-best form. His last couple of seasons have been remarkable.<\/p>\n "He won a premiership with the Roosters (2019) late in his career, that was after winning one with the St George Illawarra side back in 2010. He is fourth all-time on the try-scoring list, only Ken Irvine in front of him when it comes to wingers.<\/p>\n "He's done it all; 18 Tests, 15 Origins, 276 first grade games, and he's playing as well as he's ever played."<\/p>\n Panthers and Roosters great Brad Fittler said that injury had seemingly done what form could not by stopping Morris.<\/p>\n "He's one of the best wingers in the game. You've got to feel for him," Fittler said on The Sunday Footy Show<\/em>.<\/p>\n Sharks legend Paul Gallen said that Morris was still playing to State of Origin standard. <\/p>\n "Still one of the best wingers in the comp for the past couple of years," Gallen said on The Sunday Footy Show<\/em>.<\/p>\n "You give him half a chance, he gets it done. He scores the try 99 per cent of the time. He's just so tough, one of the game's greatest wingers ever.<\/p>\n "And such a good bloke, honestly one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. I was lucky to tour with him plenty of times, played a lot of State of Origin with him. Just a good guy, good family man, the type of guy you want in your team.<\/p>\n "To go out like this, it must be really, really hard for him. I don't know if it will end him, or if he'll want to come back and prove to everyone he can come back but it's going to be a big ask at 34, 35 years or age, coming back from a knee reconstruction.<\/p>\n "But he's been good enough. It wouldn't be based on form if he wasn't able to pick up another contract somewhere, even at the Roosters. It would be based on whether he thinks he can come back and play the footy he was playing."<\/p>\n Sterling said that both Morris twins had carried their famous name well, being the sons of former Australian Test player Steve 'Slippery' Morris.<\/p>\n "Both he (Brett) and Josh, they embraced the challenge," Sterling said.<\/p>\n Fittler added: "They've got no ego, they just try hard. It's always seemed to be about the team and their teammates.<\/p>\n "We didn't see many highlights there of Brett Morris chasing down players. He's chased down more players and saved more tries I reckon than anyone I've ever seen in the game. I can just vividly picture him just motoring down players all the time, consistently, week-in, week-out. <\/p>\n "Their energy level and just the way they put their energy towards their teammates and their club has just stood out unbelievably.
