Parramatta halfback Mitchell Moses<\/a> is reportedly set to knock back a huge offer from Brisbane to re-sign with the Eels.<\/p>\n

Moses has until round 10 to activate an option to stay with Parramatta for 2022.<\/p>\n

News Corp reports that not only will he take up that option, but he'll sign a new long-term deal that will keep him at the club until the middle of the decade.<\/p>\n

Brisbane was believed to be ready to offer Moses around $1 million a season, but the 26-year-old will stay at the Eels for around $900,000.<\/p>\n

The only sticking point appears to be the length of the deal, with Moses after a four year contract, while the Eels are keen on three years, with the parties expected to come to a resolution shortly.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, rugby league legend Wally Lewis said Moses had taken a big step forward with his game.<\/a><\/p>\n

"Mitchell Moses (is) probably a bloke that's surprised me a little bit," Lewis said on QLDER<\/a>.<\/p>\n

"He has gone on to some wonderful performances and I think that probably his age as well, he's got a few more years left in him. I just believe that the way that he's been playing his footy recently has been so admirable, it's impressed everybody.<\/p>\n

"Whether you hate Parramatta, you still get on there and look at some of his performances and get severely impressed. He's done a great job."<\/p>\n

The Eels are currently just two points behind competition leaders Penrith, and play the Bulldogs tomorrow night at Stadium Australia.<\/p>\n

The likely re-signing of Moses at Parramatta is another piece in the puzzle for 2022 and beyond, with a number of halves on the market. With Brisbane's Tom Dearden signing with North Queensland, Adam Reynolds appears likely to sign with Cronulla, with Shaun Johnson moving from the Sharks to the Broncos.<\/p>\n
