Karachi: Veteran pacer Wahab Riaz reveals that he was disappointed with the way he was sidelined from the national side based on just one series.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 35-year-old Wahab in an exclusive interview with ARY News said that he may not be on the favorites list of selectors.<\/p>\n

“If you ask me honestly, I was disheartened on getting dropped after having just one bad series against New Zealand. I was a top-performer in home series against Zimbabwe, in England and also before that,” Wahab said.<\/p>\n

Wahab emphasized that there must be a combination of experience and youth while forming a bowling attack.<\/p>\n

“If you look at Pakistan’s current bowling attack, it lacks experience, however, we [me and Mohammad Amir] have experience and have performed,” he added.<\/p>\n

“We don’t have to prove to anyone but it is up to them [selectors] to induct us or not,” he maintained.<\/p>\n

Wahab disclosed that chief selector Mohammad Wasim has asked him to work on his bowling. “I am being told by Cheif Selector that my bowling form is not upto the mark. I am working on it and you will see improvement,” he added.<\/p>\n

Wahab is confident of making a comeback in the T20I series against England, scheduled in July 2021.<\/p>\n
