The boxing world has been put-off by Josesito Lopez's welterweight victory over Fransisco Santana after the one-sided affair was allowed to continue for far too long.<\/p>\n
Santana was floored by Lopez in the first, ninth and 10th rounds before the referee finally intervened to call an end to the fight.<\/p>\n
But it was the ninth-round knockdown that most fans were up in arms over after referee Neal Young and Santana's cornermen refused to end the punishment.<\/p>\n
Santana was swaying after taking a knee in the knockdown. Beating the count, commentators began questioning if he was "too brave for his own good" and "almost too prideful".<\/p>\n

Incredibly, after stumbling back to his corner, Santana was sent back out to fight the final round.<\/p>\n
He was knocked down again in the 10th but the ref allowed it to continue until Lopez unloaded a brutal barrage to end the fight.<\/p>\n
Boxing journalist Dan Rafael was one of many who expressed their<\/p>\n
"Lopez is basically destroying Santana, who has nothing but heart. Good dude. The fight should be stopped," he wrote.<\/p>\n
