A moment of Roger Tuivasa-Sheck brilliance in the superstar fullback's 100th club game has lifted the New Zealand Warriors to a gripping 20-14 victory over the St George Illawarra Dragons<\/a> in Kogarah.<\/p>\n

The Dragons stole the lead just after the hour mark but the Warriors pinched it back less than five minutes later, Tuivasa-Sheck embarrassing the hosts' defence on the right edge.<\/p>\n

The club skipper received the footy from five-eighth Kody Nikorima just to the right of the posts 12 metres out and beat three Dragons defenders – Jack Bird, Tariq Sims and Corey Norman – to push his side 16-14 ahead.<\/p>\n

A Nikorima conversion then extended the visitors' lead to 18-14 to restore their half-time advantage, and the only points that followed were a Nikorima penalty goal on the 70-minute mark.<\/p>\n

Former Balmain Tigers front-rower Steve Roach said Tuivasa-Sheck had shown exceptional power on his way to the try-line.<\/p>\n

"What about the way that he exploded out of that tackle that he beat," Roach said on Fox League's coverage.<\/p>\n

"There was no way you were going to stop him here.<\/p>\n

"He's the man you want to have the footy in his hands.<\/p>\n

"It was Jack Bird that went up there and tried to make the one-on-one tackle. Tuivasa-Sheck beats the tackle – and then look at him explode. Bang! Straight over the top, scores the try for the Warriors.<\/p>\n

"You need those great players to get you back (into the game).<\/p>\n

"Up the other end the Saints scored. They needed to close it out.<\/p>\n

"But Tuivasa-Sheck says 'No way. The game's not over yet'."<\/p>\n

Tuivasa-Sheck also piled up a match-high 265 metres and made six tackle busts.<\/p>\n

The 20-Test New Zealand international, who's set to leave rugby league for Super Rugby Aotearoa club the Auckland Blues on a two-year deal after this season, led the Warriors back to the winners' circle after last week's one-point loss to the Manly Sea Eagles.<\/p>\n

It secured the Warriors' third win from the first six rounds and means they've finished round six in eighth on the ladder.<\/p>\n

St George Illawarra's loss ruined Josh McGuire's first match as a Dragon and ended the club's four-game winning streak.<\/p>\n

The Dragons have finished round six in sixth on the ladder.<\/p>\n
