Wests Tigers coach Michael Maguire has urged the NRL to consider more bunker intervention after South Sydney fullback Latrell Mitchell appeared to get away on two missed calls during the Tigers' 18-14 loss to the Rabbitohs<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mitchell, who had already been placed on report for a late shot on David Nofoaluma earlier in the match, avoided conceding a penalty after he appeared to strike Tigers second-rower Luke Garner with his leg.<\/p>\n

With the Rabbitohs trailing by eight points midway through the second half, Mitchell produced an incredible individual moment by making it out of the in-goal before racing down the sideline as the Tigers looked to continue applying pressure.<\/p>\n

The Rabbitohs received a penalty shortly after Mitchell's moment of madness, which wasn't to the liking of Maguire, who was left upset that his side didn't get the ball back when it appeared Mitchell attempted to kick Garner, while also making contact on the line during his in-goal effort.<\/p>\n

The Tigers coach said it was a "massive" momentum changer as he called on the NRL to look at more ways the bunker can intervene.<\/p>\n

"You look at moments in the game where the ball comes down there in the corner and I'm sure there was a foot that touched the white line and the technology in the game, I think 'Garns' ended up copping a boot there at one stage, technology in the game can refer to that," Maguire told reporters after the match.<\/p>\n

"We end up down the other end and we get a penalty against us.<\/p>\n

"Those sort of things are massive momentum changers and that hurts tonight in that result.<\/p>\n

"With the technology we've got, we've got to be using that to be able to go 'hang on', those things are happening within the game.<\/p>\n

\"Tom<\/p>\n

"I'd like that to be dealt with straight away rather than after the game<\/p>\n

"Who knows where the game could have gone if that changes."<\/p>\n

Although Mitchell avoided punishment at the time for his incident with Garner, it's expected the second half moment will eventually be looked at.<\/p>\n

"It's a terrible look here from Latrell," NRL great Corey Parker said on Fox League.<\/p>\n

Sideline commentator Matt Russell added: "That happened right in front of me… it looked terrible."<\/p>\n
