Christchurch:\u00a0Pakistan has announced\u00a0an\u00a018-player men\u2019s national squad for the three T20Is against New Zealand to\u00a0be played\u00a0on 18, 20, and 22 December.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The team management has recalled former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed and all-rounder Hussain Talat in the only changes from the side that defeated Zimbabwe 3-0\u00a0 last month.<\/p>\n

Hussain, who has replaced Pakistan\u00a0Shaheens\u2019 Zafar\u00a0Gohar, played his\u00a0last\u00a0T20I against South Africa at Centurion in February 2019, while\u00a0Sarfaraz has reclaimed his spot from\u00a0Rohail\u00a0Nazir, who will captain Pakistan\u00a0Shaheens\u00a0against New Zealand \u2018A\u2019.<\/p>\n

The squad was finalised by head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and captain Babar\u00a0Azam\u00a0in consultation with Pakistan\u00a0Shaheens\u00a0coach Ijaz Ahmed, who also\u00a0named his 16-player\u00a0squad\u00a0for the four-day match against New Zealand\u00a0\u2018A\u2019\u00a0to be played in\u00a0Whangarei from\u00a017 December.<\/p>\n

Both\u00a0Pakistan and Pakistan\u00a0Shaheens\u00a0squads\u00a0are scheduled\u00a0to depart for Queenstown on\u00a0Tuesday,\u00a08 December,\u00a0after completing their 14-day isolation period in Christchurch. In Queenstown, both sides will stay in different hotels and train at different times and according to their match requirements.<\/p>\n

On 14 December,\u00a0Shaheens\u00a0will travel to\u00a0Whangarei, while Pakistan will head to Auckland on 15 December for the opening match of the three-match series.<\/p>\n

Imad Wasim will depart for Australia\u00a0on 23 December\u00a0to play in Australia\u2019s Big Bash League, while Mohammad\u00a0Hafeez\u00a0will leave for Pakistan on 24 December after the conclusion of the T20I series.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the Pakistan red-ball format players\u00a0who will not be involved in the\u00a0T20Is will remain with\u00a0Pakistan\u00a0Shaheens\u00a0to\u00a0prepare for the two-Test series, which starts at the\u00a0Bay Oval, Mount\u00a0Maunganui, on\u00a026 December.<\/p>\n
