Brisbane's pursuit of disgruntled South Sydney playmaker Adam Reynolds<\/a> hinges on the club's contract negotiations with Kotoni Staggs according to Broncos coach Kevin Walters.<\/p>\n

The struggling glamour club <\/a>are keen to make a play for Reynolds, who is in a contract dispute with the Rabbitohs after only being offered a one-year extension at Redfern.<\/p>\n

The Broncos poor play in the halves this year has Red Hill officials convinced something needs to change hence the decision to drop off-contract five-eighth Anthony Milford to the Intrust Super Cup this weekend.<\/p>\n

The move further intensified speculation that Reynolds could be moving north, although the club's recruitment committee has prioritised Stagg's signature ahead of open market signings for now.<\/p>\n

The Broncos have discussed a three or four-year extension with Staggs worth $700,000-a-season. <\/p>\n

The club has also dangled a potential pay-rise in the future with a potential move to five-eighth for the star if he puts pen to paper. Until the club receives clarity on Staggs' future, they will hold fire on chasing Reynolds or other marquee players, says Walters. <\/p>\n

"No, we're going to sit tight at the moment," he said when asked if the Broncos would make Reynolds an offer. "We have Kotoni Staggs we are still trying to sort it, he is our priority and once we get him sorted we will make some decisions.<\/p>\n

"We've ruled out doing anything until we get a decision from Kotoni first, so we won't be worrying about the player market until we have Kotoni finalised."<\/p>\n

Walters has opted to go with Tom Dearden and Brodie Croft in the halves this weekend against the red hot Panthers in a bid to get his ball-players firing.<\/p>\n

Staggs has reportedly told some Broncos teammates he is keen to stay in Brisbane, although he is weighing up offers the Gold Coast Titans and a couple of Sydney clubs.<\/p>\n
