The mother of former Sharks coach John Morris has blasted her son's former employer on social media, just hours after the 40-year-old was sent packing by the club after being told his services would not be requried in 2022<\/a>.<\/p>\n

"My heart breaks for my son the coach," she wrote in the Facebook comments section on the club's official statement regarding the decision.<\/p>\n

"So dedicated so loyal. So disgusted that he was treated so badly by the board. Even though he knew they weren't resigning (sic) him he wanted to finish out his contract. He loves his players and his staff. His only question…why? They couldn't answer him," she wrote. <\/p>\n

"Fans get to know your board. They are deceitful liars. 24 hours earlier they said "no deal had been done" You have the power but must be financial members for 3 years before you can vote. Vote them out and bring back Barry Russel (sic) a true loyal Sharks man."<\/p>\n

Morris' comment was one of dozens taking aim at the administration of the club, with fans calling the decision "disgraceful" and a "dog act".<\/p>\n

"Morris has been treated disgracefully throughout this whole saga," wrote one fan.<\/p>\n

Another said: "I sincerely hope John finds another coaching position at a club who will give him the respect he deserves."<\/p>\n

Former prop Bryce Gibbs weighed in on Twitter, taking aim at both the club's chairman Steve Mace and CEO Dino Mezzatesta.<\/p>\n

"Steve Mace and Dino Mezzatesta are both white ants," he wrote.<\/p>\n

"They need to be voted off the board.<\/p>\n

"These 2 guys wouldn't know what a football looked like, and they're going around appointing coaches – embarrassing."<\/p>\n

Morris' departure means an interim coach will spearhead Cronulla for the remainder of the season, with Josh Hannay the likely option at this stage.<\/p>\n

The sacking comes just 24 hours after Morris was told by Mezzatesta that he was still in the running for the Sharks job<\/a> amid rumours linking the club with Fitzgibbon.<\/p>\n
