Michael Maguire has threatened to start hooking players after the Wests Tigers' dismal Leichhardt Oval capitulation at the hands of the Cowboys. <\/a><\/p>\n

Favourites to win, the Tigers were beaten by the first half by a side that hadn't won a match this season and that was missing key players, including superstar forward Jason Taumalolo and retired champion playmaker Michael Morgan.\n<\/p>\n

The joint-venture club had also been intent on winning in honour of club legend Tommy Raudonikis, the beloved halfback who played 201 games with Western Suburbs Magpies in the 1960s and '70s and died last week.<\/p>\n

A packed Leichardt Oval crowd rained boos down on their team as they returned to their dressing room<\/a> at half-time down 28-6 for an old-fashion rocket from coach Michael Maguire.<\/p>\n

And despite countering with five-tries of their own in the second-half, the damage had already been done. <\/p>\n

After the match, a noticeably down-trodden Maguire was at his wit's end, as he threatened to start taking the axe to his squad. <\/p>\n

"Our reserve grade is going well, so we will have a look," Maguire said at his post-match press conference. <\/p>\n

"It was poor. I'll have a look at the video and I'll hold my comments at the moment until I look at it again, because it's not what the Wests Tigers are about.<\/p>\n

"The players know what they need to do. We need to have a good look at where we are at. It hurt [the boos], it was disappointing. The fans are riding this with us, it was a special day today. I understand that and the players understand that. It was tough to take.<\/p>\n

"If that's the case, where we are if there's complacency inside us, well that's pretty disappointing. I think you can tell [how disappointed I am]. We've got to find our shoulders that would be a start. Defensively we weren't where we needed to be. It's not good enough."<\/p>\n

The Tigers will face an uphill battle when they clash with the Rabbitohs next Saturday night.<\/p>\n
