Even if Corey Conners walks away without the Green Jacket this weekend at least the 29-year-old can say he left with a slice of history.<\/p>\n
Conners became the first Canadian to score a hole in one since Ross Somerville in the first ever Masters in 1934.<\/p>\n
The wonder strike was the sixth ever ace at the sixth hole in the Masters and gave Conners a huge lift in his pursuit to become the second player from Canada to snare a Green Jacket, after Mike Weir's 2003 effort.<\/p>\n

Conners goes into the final round five strokes behind Japanese leader Hideki Matsuyama.<\/p>\n
Conners, using an eight-iron, landed the ball about 10 yards short of the cup as it bounced three times before it stuck in the hole.<\/p>\n
"It was a little draw, turning at the pin. I think I hit the pin with a little bit of steam, but it was right in the middle, so a pretty special moment," Conners said.<\/p>\n
The Canadian almost holed out from a similar distance at the par-four 18th, where his approach shot collided with the pin on the first bounce.<\/p>\n
The ball rebounded about 10 yards away, which resulted in a two-putt par and a four-under-par 68.<\/p>\n
While he has a chance of finishing on top on the final day, Conners said he won't be stressing out tonight.<\/p>\n
