Young gun Stephen Crichton will only face a fine after being charged with contrary conduct by the NRL judiciary.<\/p>\n

Crichton came under scrutiny for his actions following Charlie Staines' try in the 65th minute of Penrith's win over Canberra<\/a>, where he grabbed Raiders forward Joseph Tapine, who was waiting on the sidelines, and appeared to pull him into the Panthers' post-try celebrations.<\/p>\n

"They're going to end up in the crowd here, boys", said Storm legend Billy Slater on Nine's coverage.<\/p>\n

"There's some ill-feeling in this one."<\/p>\n

The base penalty for the charge is $1500, but with an early guilty plea, Crichton will be fined $1350, or $1800 if he were to fight it and was found guilty by the judiciary.<\/p>\n

The try and Nathan Cleary's subsequent conversion were the dagger in the Raiders' hearts, extending Penrith's lead to 14 points.\n<\/p>\n

\nAfter the scuffle, Penrith's fans rubbed salt into Canberra's wounds, with hundreds joining in on a mockery of the 'Viking Clap'.<\/p>\n

Crichton was filling in at centre for the injured Dylan Edwards, and performed admirably. The 20-year-old ran for 125 metres and broke four tackles, while also setting up a try.<\/p>\n

It's been a dream start to the year for Penrith, who sit on top of the ladder with a perfect five wins from five matches. It was their 20th regular season win in a row.<\/p>\n
