Manly winger Jason Saab appeared to be lodging a qualifier for the Tokyo Olympics' 100 metres in side's 13-12 win over the Warriors – that's how fast he tore up the middle of Central Coast Stadium to ice a breathtaking try<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And as the scorch marks on the turf cooled off after Saab's 28th-minute four-pointer, it was revealed just how talented a sprinter the former Dragon is.<\/p>\n

Sea Eagles halfback Daly Cherry-Evans blasted a kick from a scrum from more than 70 metres out, and although Saab gave Ken Maumalo about a 15-metre head-start, he hurtled past the Warriors winger to collect the footy and dot down.<\/p>\n

"He actually set the fastest time for a player recorded since Josh Addo-Carr back in 2019 earlier this season – 37.5 kilometres per hour," said sideline Fox League reporter Jake Duke of Saab.<\/p>\n

"He's done a lot of work with renowned sprint coach Roger Fabris during the off-season. He regards him as one of the quickest NRL players he's ever seen.<\/p>\n

"He says that in training (Saab) actually keeps up with national sprinters over 60 metres, so that tells you how fast Jason Saab is."<\/p>\n

Saab's try was the perfect start for Manly who found themselves having to fight back from a six-point deficit to ice the game with a last-second field goal from skipper Daly Cherry-Evans.<\/p>\n
