CENTURION: Head coach Misbah-ul-Haq said their biggest concern currently is the lack of consistency in middle and lower-middle order batting.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Misbah told reporters in a virtual conference that they realized the need for improvement in middle-order batting following modern-day cricket. “We know that there is a serious need to work on middle and late middle-order batting,” he said.<\/p>\n

“You saw we had played Sarfaraz Ahmed in last ODI because we needed someone having experience to strengthen our middle-order. Unfortunately, he got out but when he went in the ground, our top-order had already scored runs. His role was to accelerate the inning from there and he tried hard to fulfill his role according to the situation,” he added.<\/p>\n

Misbah said the ODI series victory against South Africa was a huge booster for them as they gained the second position in\u00a0ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League Standings.<\/p>\n

“Definitely, this win gave all of us a lot of confidence moving ahead in ODIs. We look forward to continuing this streak and win our upcoming ODIs against England in July,” he said.<\/p>\n

The head coach praised two performers from the series, Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman. “Fakhar was outstanding with the bat. He was a blessing for us in the series and see how it works when you give confidence to your players. Fakhar has paid off quite well and won us this series,” he said.<\/p>\n

“It is always exciting to see Babar leading from the front. He is scoring runs and this is something giving the whole team immense confidence,” concluded Misbah.<\/p>\n
