Sebastian Vettel<\/a> must "stop whining" and get on with job of performing at Aston Martin, former F1 grand prix winner Ralf Schumacher says.<\/p>\n

Vettel finished 15th on debut for his new team at the Bahrain GP, saying afterwards: "I'm not at home in the car.<\/p>\n

"There's a lot of things that are fighting me so that I can't really focus on driving. We need to address them and try and fix them."<\/p>\n

Schumacher said that the four-time world champion needed to get his act together, especially after younger teammate Lance Stroll finished 10th in the same car.<\/p>\n

"The whining that he doesn't feel the car has to stop," Schumacher told Germany's Sport1.de.<\/p>\n

"I'm sorry for Sebastian. This is a huge problem and it will take time," he said.<\/p>\n

"Nobody cares about that, and after all, we're in Formula 1 here and he's also earning a lot of money.<\/p>\n

"At the end of the day, Sebastian is an experienced racing driver and a multiple world champion. He has to clean up with his teammate now and the rest will come on its own even if the Aston Martin doesn't turn into a winning car this year."<\/p>\n

Another GP winner, David Coulthard, predicted recently that Stroll could finish Vettel's career before the season was out. Vettel has already been beaten by younger teammates at Red Bull (Daniel Ricciardo) and Ferrari (Charles Leclerc).<\/p>\n

"I do wonder if it's a part of brand building," Coulthard said of Vettel's signing.<\/p>\n

"Not only for Aston Martin but also for Lance Stroll, because if he can beat a four-time world champion that will become a justification for why he's a champion in waiting.<\/p>\n

"If he does to Seb what Charles did to Seb, then I just don't see how he [Vettel] can finish the season."<\/p>\n

Vettel's former mentor, Red Bull's Helmut Marko, has reiterated that Vettel might have benefited from taking a break this season.<\/p>\n

"I was of the opinion, I told you that too, that he should take a year off, sort himself out, ask himself what he wants," Marko told Motorsport.com<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

"I believe that a lot is possible within Formula 1 next year. He didn't do that. Now he sits in the Aston Martin."<\/p>\n
