Brisbane<\/a> are in a pickle after a proposed player swap deal with the Warriors.<\/p>\n

The Broncos allowed promising youngster Reece Walsh, 18, to join the Warriors immediately after he secured a release from the remainder of his contract. Walsh inked a three-year deal worth $1.2 million with the Warriors early this year, originally planned to begin in 2022.<\/p>\n

"He is signed there for next year and he was keen to pursue that and we didn't want to stop him getting his way," said Broncos coach Kevin Walters.<\/p>\n

"We could have played Reece (in the NRL) later in the year but that won't be happening now.<\/p>\n

"That's OK, we have other good young kids coming through so we will give them the opportunity."<\/p>\n

The only problem is, Red Hill officials thought they were getting a developmental player in return, with Paul Turner offered up by the Kiwi-based club.<\/p>\n

The Broncos weren't aware that Turner was in the Warriors' top 30 squad, only have one spot left in their top 30 and don't necessarily want to use their last spot on Turner. Most clubs like to leave one spot open to give them some flexibility as the season moves forward.<\/p>\n

The Walsh deal won't be impacted by the issue, although the Broncos are yet to sort out how to handle the Turner situation, with the matter remaining unresolved.<\/p>\n

Walsh has been earmarked to replace Roger Tuivasa-Sheck at fullback and will be the Warriors star's understudy before he leaves the NRL for rugby.<\/p>\n
