{"id":54179,"date":"2021-04-05T04:01:19","date_gmt":"2021-04-05T04:01:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/?p=54179"},"modified":"2021-04-05T10:59:53","modified_gmt":"2021-04-05T10:59:53","slug":"test-superstar-confounds-with-this-dubious-catch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/?p=54179","title":{"rendered":"Test superstar confounds with this dubious catch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Test star Marnus Labuschagne has struck a Sheffield Shield century for <a href=\"https:\/\/wwos.nine.com.au\/cricket\/live-scores\/new-south-wales-v-queensland-marsh-sheffield-shield-2020-2021\/49898\" title=\"Queensland against NSW\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Queensland against NSW<\/a> &#8211; the day after confounding viewers with a dubious catch.<\/p>\n<p>Labuschagne made 112 runs from 212 balls before being dismissed by Trent Copeland on Monday at Wollongong, with the Bulls making a good fist of chasing NSW&#x27;s first-innings total of 381.<\/p>\n<p>The previous day, Labuschagne ended the Blues&#x27; innings with a catch at cover off a horribly miscued swipe from Baxter Holt, off the bowling of Mitchell Swepson.<\/p>\n<p>Labuschagne caught the ball but was off balance and released it out the back of his hand while still running awkwardly.<\/p>\n<p><img data-id=\"7307db20-50d8-4354-8d29-20b47173c9cd\" src=\"https:\/\/prod.static9.net.au\/fs\/7307db20-50d8-4354-8d29-20b47173c9cd\" alt=\"\" data-width=\"1396\" data-height=\"785\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Holt was deemed out but it was debatable whether the catch satisfied the letter of the relevant cricket law, which plenty looked up after seeing the incident. <\/p>\n<p>Per Law 33.33: &quot;The act of making a catch \u2026 shall end when a fielder obtains complete control over both the ball and his\/her own movement.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Seasoned cricket watchers were split on the decision.
