The Wests Tigers have officially pulled out of the race to sign Storm flyer Josh Addo-Carr as speculation mounts over where the star wants to play.<\/p>\n

Addo-Carr was seen touring Canterbury's facilities last month<\/a> with the Bulldogs reportedly offering a four-year deal in the vicinity of $2 million.<\/a><\/p>\n

It is speculated Addo-Carr also has a strong desire to play with South Sydney, while sources suggest Newcastle has also thrown their hat in the ring for the winger's services.<\/p>\n

Tigers chairman Lee Hagipantelis rejected claims the Bulldogs offer had trumped the Tigers initial figure, after the star signed a heads of agreement with Wests.<\/p>\n

"We haven't engaged with Josh's manager at all since we were told that Melbourne wouldn't release him for 2021," Hagipantelis told The Daily Telegraph.<\/p>\n

"I have just read the report that suggests 'the Bulldogs have made an offer that blows the Tigers out of the water', which I found interesting.<\/p>\n

"Firstly, we are not in the water.<\/p>\n

"Secondly, if we were in the water the offer which is being reported would not have blown us anywhere.<\/p>\n

"There have been absolutely no discussions with Mario Tartak (Addo-Carr's agent) whatsoever, there have been no offers made, no counter offers made."<\/p>\n

The Tigers claim Addo-Carr's management promised a meeting with the Origin star after the Blues' campaign but that never eventuated.<\/p>\n

"I can offer no explanation as to why the meeting did not take place.<\/p>\n

"But the fact that there is absolutely no interest that has been shown by Mario in speaking with the club, we just formed the view that we have moved on."<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
