NRLW player Nita Maynard is in hot water after she was charged with allegedly assaulting two security guards outside of a Cronulla Pub on Friday night.<\/p>\n
Maynard, 28, allegedly became aggressive towards staff at the Northies Hotel in Cronulla when asked to leave the venue.<\/p>\n
It is alleged she then assaulted two security guards outside the pub before she was arrested and taken to Sutherland Police Station, where she was charged with two counts of common assault.<\/p>\n
"About 9pm yesterday (Friday 2 April 2021), officers attached to Sutherland Shire Police Area Command were called to a licensed premise on Elouera Road, Cronulla, following reports of an alleged assault," a police statement read.<\/p>\n

"Police were told a 28-year-old woman became aggressive when she was directed to leave the venue by security.<\/p>\n
"During the incident, it's alleged the woman assaulted two security guards. She was eventually restrained until police arrived a short time later.<\/p>\n
"The woman was arrested and taken to Sutherland Police Station, where she was charged with two counts of common assault and\u00ad excluded person fail to leave premises when required."<\/p>\n
Maynard, who once represented NSW at State of Origin level back in 2018, is currently featuring in the NSWRL Women's Premiership for North Sydney, with the NRLW season scheduled for later this year.<\/p>\n

To date, she has played 11 games for the Roosters in the No.9 jersey. Any sanctions handed down to Maynard are likely to be done so by the NSWRL.<\/p>\n
"Nita Maynard is contracted to North Sydney," a spokeswoman from the NSWRL told the Sydney Morning Herald.<\/p>\n
"North Sydney are dealing with it at the moment and keeping us in the loop with regards to their actions.<\/p>\n
"We will review the matter further once North Sydney have determined a course of action. We are confident they have the matter in hand."<\/p>\n
Chairman of the North Sydney Bears, Daniel Dickson, said Maynard is feeling "shattered" over the incident.<\/p>\n
"She is obviously disappointed with what has gone on," Dickson said.<\/p>\n
"We will make comment when the time is right."<\/p>\n
