This weekend's NRL match between the Storm and Broncos<\/a> could be played in Sydney, with discussions ongoing with the Victorian government over whether or not Brisbane players can travel to Melbourne.<\/p>\n

A decision is expected today, with the match likely to be moved to Stadium Australia, meaning the ground would host two matches on Good Friday.<\/p>\n

The early match between the Rabbitohs and the Bulldogs<\/a> is already locked in for 4pm, with the Storm and Broncos to follow at 8pm if the switch goes ahead.<\/p>\n

Nine News reporter Danny Weidler says the NRL remains locked in negotiations with Victorian health officials, following the COVID-19 outbreak in Brisbane.<\/p>\n

Victoria has designated the entire Greater Brisbane area a "red zone" under the state's travel permit system, which means only returning Victorian residents can enter the state, and then only if they self-quarantine for 14 days.<\/p>\n

Queensland recorded eight locally-acquired cases of COVID-19 today<\/a>, with officials confirming there's now two clusters in the state.<\/p>\n

Brisbane players and staff flew to Sydney yesterday<\/a>, where they'll be based until their the Round Five match against Souths, if not longer<\/p>\n

"The players and staff have taken the changes in their stride, and while it's tough on many of our team with young families, they are keen to get on the road and prepare for a great challenge against the Storm," said interim CEO Neil Monaghan.<\/p>\n

"We will then stay in Sydney to get ready for the Rabbitohs game, which will ensure the continuity of the competition.<\/p>\n

"Coach Kev Walters and all the players and staff are seeing this time on the road as a great opportunity to further strengthen their team bond, especially coming off the back of a morale-boosting win."<\/p>\n

The Broncos beat Canterbury on the weekend, to record their first win in 259 days<\/a>.<\/p>\n
